Gryllacridoidea. The collection contains several specimens of the rare desert nocturnal Lezina, with extremely long antenna, which inhabits long tunnels burrowed in the sand.
Grilloidea. The collection contains ca. 700 specimens of 39 species in 21 genera of crickets, including unique specimens of two minute mole-cricket species with Afrotropical affinities from the Dead Sea area, the Negev and the Arava Valley, and two tiny species of the myrmecophilous genus Myrmecophilus endemic to Israel.
Tettigonioidea. The collection contains ca. 2,700 specimens of 60 species in 26 genera, incorporating the particularly important, well-maintained and identified collection of M. Pener (the Hebrew University), including unique specimens of rare and endemic species, particularly from Mount Hermon, the Judean Desert and the Negev, and primary types of species described from Israel.
