A vigorous natural history museum demands an active collecting program.

Our collections have greatly increased over the past decades as the result of the survey and collecting work of our museum staff, and also as the result of donations of private and institutional collections that were donated to us as the national repository.

In addition, our university-level courses that introduce students to the fauna of the country also play a contributory role to the growth of the collections. Some members of our staff have also traveled abroad to carry out biodiversity studies and collecting, as part of their research programs.
