This summer we’ll commemorate one year since the museum opened to the public, congratulations!

During the summer vacation the museum will hold a range of activities and special events for the entire family, for the enjoyment of both children and adults.
The summer events at the museum include guided tours covered by the admission fee, tours of the Tel Aviv Zoological Garden, plays, workshops and a special evening event including sleeping at the museum (for an additional fee)!

Special opening hours during July-August:
Monday – Thursday: 10:00 – 19:00
Friday: 10:00 – 14:00
Saturday: 10:00 – 19:00
* On Wednesday 10.7 the museum will close at 16:00
* From August the museum will also be open on Sundays: 10:00 – 19:00

Temporary Exhibition:

Zoom 2019 – Young Israeli Artists: A group exhibition, 22 young Israeli artists express a wide range of themes that interest the young generation. They use original approaches in their creations to examine diverse themes, including questions relating to life, death and time: Are humans part of nature or elevated above it? How do we treat nature and each other? What is our role and place in this world? The exhibition is displayed throughout the museum and in the gallery for temporary exhibitions.
Join a guided tour with the associate curator of the exhibition, Tal Bachler, and artists from the exhibition.

When?
Friday, 28.6 at 11:00
Tuesday, 2.7 at 16:30
Friday 19.7 at 11:00

Good to know
The guided tour of the exhibition is included in the Museum admission fee.
The number of participants in each guided tour is limited.
The guided tours are given by Tal Bachler, associate curator of the exhibition, and two of the artists participating in the exhibition.
It is recommended to pre-book your tickets.
The tour begins at the museum lobby at the time printed on your ticket.
You are welcome to visit the museum’s exhibitions before or after the tour, during opening hours.

Guided Tours: Twilight Tour of the Zoological Garden: learn all about the world of animals in the garden, and hear fascinating stories about the animals and their keepers, in a guided tour of the Tel Aviv Zoological Garden.

When?
Every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday at 17:30

Cost: 30 NIS per participant, in addition to the museum admission fee.
The number of participants in each guided tour is limited.
The guided tour lasts up to 60 minutes.

A Guided Tour of the Museum’s Exhibitions: our professional guides will guide you through the museum’s permanent exhibitions, sharing stories about the animals on display and the research in the museum’s diverse collections.

When?
Every Tuesday and Saturday at 16:30

Plays for the Entire Family: Selected plays will visit the museum again during the summer vacation, as part of a diverse family experience: “The Nature King” by Mediatheque Theater and “The Adventures of Humit: Story of an Ant” by Ruth Kanner Theatre Group.

Good to know
The plays are suitable for children aged 4-7, accompanied by an adult.
Each participant, including an accompanying adult, requires a ticket
Cost: combined ticket for the museum and play – 90 NIS; concession price – 75 NIS.

Nature Study: a unique family workshop that allows each participant to study nature independently and actively. The workshop includes a range of stations offering close examination of both small and large details, use of advanced scientific equipment, display items that can be touched and craft kits.

When?
Workshops will be offered from 3.7
on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 16:30
and on Saturdays at 9:30, 12:00, and 16:30
*On Thursday, 11.7, workshops will take place at 9:30 and 12:00 only

From 23.7 to 31.8
workshops will be offered daily (except for Friday) at 9:30, 12:00 and 16:30

 Good to know
The workshop is designed as a joint activity for adults and children age 6 and above and includes a visit to the museum.
Cost: 20 NIS per participant in addition to the museum admission fee.
Every participant, including an accompanying adult, requires a ticket for the workshop.
The workshop lasts about 50 minutes.

New! Good Night Sweetie | Sleeping at the Steinhardt Museum
Come to meet the Steinhardt Museum… in your pajamas!
You are invited to take part in a wonderful, hands-on summer activity for the entire family.
Discover how the museum looks after the lights are turned off – study, play, learn and most importantly, have fun, as you become vets for the night, search for treasure, experience the exhibitions by flashlight, and wake up with the animals in the zoological garden.

 When?
Thursdays: 25.7, 15.8
Beginning on Thursday at 20:00
Ending on Friday at 8:00

Good to know
Suitable for children age 6 – 12 accompanied by a parent.
The visit to the museum includes workshops, light refreshments in the evening, breakfast and a morning tour of the zoological garden.
Sleeping will be on mattresses in one of the museum halls. Sleeping bags are the responsibility of the participants.
There are no showers on site.
Cost:
460 NIS for parent and child; 200 NIS for an additional child.Up to two children with each accompanying parent.
The number of participants in this event is limited to 80.

Playroom: The museum offers a playroom, in which children and parents can study, feel and touch selected items from the museum’s collections.
In the playroom you can study animals, through play and enjoyment, or use the space and mats for a short rest. The playroom has five different games that were developed especially by the staff of the museum’s education department.

Good to know
Use of the playroom is free of charge.
