Getting Ready for Your Visit
For your use ,a museum story (print it or use the digital version). Use it to become familiar with our museum and get ready for your visit.
Lots of people like to visit the Museum, so it might be a bit noisy and crowded.
If you want a quieter visit, you should visit the Museum at these hours:
On Saturdays, vacations and holidays: after 14:00
During the school year: after 13:00
Entry is forbidden to animals, except for guide dogs or service dogs, on presentation of a suitable card at reception.
Arriving and Getting Organized
Our address: Klausner 12, Tel Aviv; in the car: “Steinhardt Museum” on Waze;
A parking lot with 620 parking bays is located under the museum building. The parking lot is owned by “Ahuzot Hahof”; entry requires payment. The parking lot includes designated parking for the disabled. Parking for tall disabled cars is on the upper level (3 designated parking bays): please approach the security guard at the entrance to the “Ahuzot Hahof” parking lot. In his absence, please press the intercom button and ask for the boom gate to be opened.
Arrival by bus: Egged lines 271, 222; Dan lines 7, 25, 45, 289; Kavim lines 107, 464, 474, 506; Metropoline lines 572, 604. The bus stops are on the street opposite the Museum entrance. The path from the bus stop to the Museum is accessible.
Arrival by train: alight at Tel Aviv University station (and continue on Dan lines 7 and 45).
For your convenience, on the entrance level adjacent to the toilets, there are lockers in a range of sizes and heights. There is no need to pay or leave a deposit to use the lockers. The key is in the door of each available locker.
Inside the Museum: Orientation and Explanations
For you use, a sensory map (print it or use the digital version) in case you want to know where to find the touchable items, the noisy and dark parts of the Museum, and the animal displays that you should know about in advance.
To help you find your way around, please note that the floors are marked in colors that match the colors on the map; the elevators are also marked in these colors.
The guidance and service staff at the Museum have been trained to make information and services accessible to visitors with disabilities; they are happy to help you with any request.
Guided tours in sign language or simplified language – must be arranged two weeks in advance.

Accessibility in the Exhibitions
In all of the permanent exhibitions there are accessible passageways that constitute part of the exhibition.
Access to all of the display spaces is possible via the elevators, in accordance with the signage.
In each of the permanent exhibitions there are display items that may be touched.
Information on the display items appears on the exhibition signage in three languages: Hebrew, English and Arabic.
The videos displayed in the exhibitions are accompanied by subtitles in Hebrew, English and Arabic.
Services and Assistive Devices
Equipment for hire at reception, on presentation of an ID card as a deposit:
Assistive hearing devices: may be used in the auditorium, instruction classes and screening spaces in the exhibitions.
Assistive devices for the sight impaired: an audio guide with a verbal description of the exhibitions.
Portable folding chairs.

For assistance during your visit or in an emergency you may approach any of our staff members in the exhibitions or at reception.
Accessible toilets for the disabled: located on Floors 0, 1 and 2, adjacent to the elevators, and marked with signage.
Seating and resting areas: the entrance lobby and the outside seating area, the lobby on Floor 2 and the adjacent deck.
The outside seating area and the deck are also the designated areas for eating and drinking.

The Museum shop, part of the TOMMY & ANNIKA chain, is open from Monday to Saturday during Museum opening hours. The shop has a range of quality products and gifts for all ages: toys and games for newborns to teenagers, home décor products and everything you’ve ever dreamed to find in a museum shop – all from the world of nature and wildlife. Many of the items in the shop were imported, developed, and produced especially for the Museum shop.

Entry to the Museum shop does not require purchase of an admission ticket.
A café (dairy) that offers toasted sandwiches, salads, desserts, snacks, ice creams, soft drinks and espresso or cappuccino.
Open during Museum opening hours. You may sit there only with food and drinks bought at the café.
Entry to the exhibition areas and activity rooms with food and drink is forbidden.
