Dr. Zoya Yefremova is a collection manager of parasitoid Hymenoptera. She received her PhD in 1985 on the “Fauna and ecology of bumblebees and bumblebee Cuckoos (Bombus, Psithyrus, Hymenoptera: Apidae) in the Volga Region” from the Institute of Evolutionary Morphology and Ecology of Animals of the Russian Academy of Science in Moscow. In 1998, she got a Habilitation degree on “The parasitic wasps in the family Eulophidae (Hymenoptera: Eulophidae) of the Palearctic (morphology, biology, systematics, evolution and phylogeny)” from the Russian Academy of Science in St. Petersburg. Her research interests include taxonomy, evolution, phylogeny and morphological and ecological adaptations of parasitism in the Eulophinae, Eutiinae and Tetrastichinae (Hymenoptera: Eulophidae). She collaborates with researchers from the Museum of Natural History, London, Smithsonian Institution, Washington DC, and many others. Zoya has authored and co-authored more than 200 articles in peer-reviewed scientific journals devoted mainly to the fauna and ecology of parasitoids in the Middle East and Southeast Asia.
