Dr. Ronit Justo-Hanani is an Assistant Professor at the Steinhardt Museum and the Department of Public Policy, Tel Aviv University (TAU). She has a multidisciplinary academic background which include Law (LL.B), Ecology (MS.c, PhD) and public policy. Her main interests are biodiversity risk regulation, science and technology policy and politics, and global environmental politics. She studies classic and emerging risk phenomena, ranging from alien invasive species, biodiversity loss, agricultural pesticides, hazardous chemicals, GM food and crops, nanotechnology and artificial intelligence.

She published articles in Research Policy, Global Environmental Politics, Nature Sustainability, PlOS One, Policy Sciences, Biological Invasions, and Journal of Environmental Policy & Planning. Her book titled: Governing nanotechnology: The politics of risk regulation in the European Union and the United States is to be published by Edward Elgar Publishing.

She teaches risk regulation of environmental, health and safety, regulation of emerging technologies, and an internship course on regulatory policy. Between 2014-2016 she was a visiting scholar at the Haas School of Business in UC Berkeley, and in 2008 she was a visiting scholar at the Sheffield Institute of Biotechnology Law and Ethics in the University of Sheffield. She is a member of the International Science-Policy Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES), IUCN, Gland, Switzerland. She was also a member of the research group on biosecurity and transnational crime at the Canadian Institute for Advanced Research (CIFAR), Toronto, Canada.

Ronit is part of the applied research wing of the Steinhardt Museum of Natural History.
