Prof. Jonathan Belmaker is a curator of Fishes at the Steinhardt Museum and an Associate Professor at the School of Zoology, Tel Aviv University. He completed his PhD in Ecology, supervised by Prof. Yaron Ziv and Prof. Nadav Shashar (both Ben Gurion University of the Negev). He conducted postdoctoral studies at University of California, San Diego, and Yale University (2008–2012) supervised by Prof. Walter Jetz. His main interests are community ecology, biogeography and macroecology, with a focus of Mediterranean fishes.
