Ofir Tomer is a collection manager of the Lepidoptera (moths and butterflies) collections at the Steinhardt Museum. Ofir studies the Israeli butterflies (taxonomy, natural history), and also involve in research of the butterflies (Lycaenidae in particular) of the southern Neotropical (Argentina and Chile).
