Shira Penner is a postdoctoral scholar at the Steinhardt Museum Herbarium since November 2019. She completed her PhD on adaptations of plants to stress in the Faculty of Life Sciences at Tel Aviv University, supervised by Dr. Yuval Sapir. Shira’s current research is focusing on the relationships of phylogeny, biogeography and evolution of propagule traits in Medicago and Trigonella (Fabaceae), and the taxonomic delimitation of these two genera. Her main interests are botany, evolutionary ecology and natural history.
